Q. How was your situation after 6-0?
A. My feelings were horrible because I think after it was 6-0,
1-0 so seven games in a
row and of course it was very tough for me to get through there.
It’s good that I was still
very concentrated on every point because if I couldn't win that
game on her serve the
score wouldn't be 1-1, it would be very tough. I felt also that
she's not in the best shape.
We both didn't show a high quality of tennis but I won and I'm
happy. Especially in the
end it was tough and very long points.
Q. Is it physical tiredness because you've been around the whole
year and it’s
normal? Today also it was nervy?
A. It was nervous and very up and down because it was a very
important match for both
of us because the winner was going to be in the semi-final so it
was very important and
maybe that’s one of the reasons why we didn’t play that well.
Q. You are starting a dream or this has continued since, let’s
say you won Moscow
last year? Do you feel that you are among the best?
A. Well as I said its kind of a surprise for me that I am in the
semi´s because I feel that I
am not playing my best and I'm not ready for 100% but still I'm
in the semi’s and I'm
very happy about it and maybe I'll have a rest tomorrow and for
the semi-final I’ll feel
more fresh.
Q. At the beginning of the week you said you were in a really
tough group with
Henin, Williams and Jankovic. Are you happy to get to the next
round in such a
tough group?
A. Well of course I'm happy but it also depends on the shape of
all those players and if
they don't have an injury. With Serena, the match was a little
bit weird for me because I
never thought that she was going to retire. Also, Jelena is not
in the best shape so I just
got lucky.
Q. You haven't been playing your best tennis coming in. Since
the US Open you haven't been playing the way you're normally able to. Have you
been able to
recapture some of the great tennis of before?
A. Well, I have 2 wins here and maybe I can play better in the
semi’s because I will
have more confidence and its not just because you want to play
well, you want to win it
so I won today and I'm happy.
Q. You have a day off tomorrow, what are your plans?
A. Well, I'm going to practice a little bit, not too much
because I want to stay fresh and
relax a little bit and just prepare for semi’s.
Q. Who would you like face in the semi-final?
A. It’s a very tough question because both players are very
tough and Maria is a great
champion and Ana had an amazing year this year so they are both
very tough and it’s
tough to say who I want to play against.
Q. Do you think there is one in particular that you have more
chances to win, that
their style of game suits you better or..?
A. As I said, they are both very tough players and they are both
very serious opponents |
